I've swatched with the yarn I chose for Ariann, but I'm trying to show some restraint and not cast on until I finish two other projects. It's SO HARD not to start this right away!

Quick question: is there any reason why I can't forego the ribbing and just knit the eyelet pattern throughout?

Hi Janet - that is a BEAUTIFUL color of yarn!

I agree with Liz - knit 2 rows then start the other patterns as on page 2.

Be sure to work the proper amount of extra eyelet pattern rows to compensate for omitting the ribbing.

Thanks Liz; you're right - and I probably need to be careful about changing it.

And thanks Bonne Marie for the props on the color! I don't know how intrepid I am, so the jury's still out on whether I'll deviate from the pattern as written.
